Steaming Up The Kitchen…
One of the downsides to working a bazillon hours a week is that I never can make it to happy hour. So I’ve decided to host my own happy hour. Right now. At midnight on a Tuesday night, or is it Wednesday morning? Either way, happy hour at my place! You know, the last time I went out for cocktails after work was on my birthday. Yup, the dreaded 25th. Ugh….that was a rough day, but I had some delicious drinks, that’s for sure!!! St. Germain was my drink of choice that night. How can you go wrong with elderflower liqueur, club soda, and champagne???? Normally it’s made with white wine, but the bartender switched out the wine for champagne since I was ‘celebrating’ and those bubbles went right to my head!
Anyway, tonight, I’m celebrating too! So this evening, I get home from the restaurant, and log into my site, only to see that I had some comments posted. Assuming they were from family or close friends trying to be supportive, I open them all super nonchalantly, even though secretly, I’m still excited that someone, anyone, took the time to comment on one of my posts. I almost fell off my chair when I saw who they were from. The first one was from Monica H. over at Lick The Bowl Good. And the other was from Maria at Two Peas and Their Pod. Are you kidding me?!?!?!? I started jumping up and down like a little kid on Christmas who just got the PlaySkool kitchen!!! This is truly cause for celebration!
So I sit, drinking my fabulous Bacardi and limeade cocktail in a tank top and fuzzy slippers (you know you have a pair) and leave you with one of the most dangerously tantalizing cocktails I’ve ever made, created one late night at the bar when three guys decided I needed a drink that would capture my sparkling personality…
2 oz Ketel One Vodka
1 oz Elderflower liqueur
‘Sink’ of Chambord
In a shaker filled with ice, vigorously shake the vodka and elderflower liqueur. Strain into a martini glass, and pour in a little Chambord. Since the Chambord is heavy, it will sink to the bottom of the glass.
My Thoughts:
Normally, I’m a Ketel One martini straight up, no olives, no twist, no nothing. There is something alluring about a woman sitting at the bar ordering that drink. But the Tati-Tini, oooh, where to start? First off, it goes down SO smooth. Secondly, they are STUNNING to look at. The first night I made this, I did the ‘table test’. I made the cocktail and placed it on one of the tables in the restaurant. It was absolutely gorgeous. The Chambord creates the most spectacular shade of pink, leaving everyone wondering what that is….

Awe, thanks guys! Yeah, I’m not sure when I decided I should start writing, but apparently at 1am, I’m pretty good at it:) Thanks for reading guys!!!!!
You have me belly laughing! Let’s do happy hour tonight at midnight…call me!
Congrats on starting your blog. The cocktail sounds great – I’ll be on the lookout for Elderflower Liqueur.
You’re too cute. I still get excited over comments too
I’ve never heard of Elderflower liquer. I don’t drink much but maybe I can talk my husband into getting some!
Tatiyana when r u going to make me one of these??
Although this is a little too feminine for me, it appears as though you’ve piqued the interest of your female readership
What do you recommend for a good, spicy bloody mary?
For someone who’s passion is to shop, drink and cook….how did writing become your new past time when you have none to spare?
Way to go sis!
